So one day for scriptures we made up parables. And we just happened to be watching BYU volleyball right before, so here is mine:
Behold, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a BYU volleyball game. Wherefore, the players are sent to the court by the coach, for many are called but few are chosen. Some are chosen to come to the court for a short time only, until their ministry is done. Therefore, those on the court at the time try their best, for they are on the court to make mistakes and learn from them. Behold, the coach cannot be with the players on the court, but he challenges the officials to get points. Sometimes is seems like the coach doesn't care about his players because his face is so unemotional, but he is always there on the sidelines. And when the game is over, the players on the court are reunited with the rest of their team. Such is the kingdom of heaven like unto a BYU volleyball game.
And behold, when the disciples questioned what meaneth the parable of the volleyball, he answered and said unto them, the volleyball court is this earth, and the players are all people sent to this earth. Their life is their time playing, in which time they can accomplish many great things, and they are on this earth to learn and grow, even though they sometimes make mistakes. The coach represents Jesus Christ, and he is our advocate with the Father just like the coach challenges the officials, and though he isn't playing, he is always watching the players, just like the Savior always is watching over us. And, just like the players all reunite in happiness, when we are done with our life on earth, we will be reunited with our family.
